OSAS – Create Excel Employee List File

 

The following procedure will allow you to create an excel file from you OSAS employee master file.

 

From OSAS Payroll create a text file:

 

Custom Reports and Programs

            Export Data

                        Export Employee Data to Text File

                                    (F)ile select and use EMP.PRN for the file name

 

The above procedure creates a text file called P:\OSAS611\ProgGN\EMP.PRN.

 

 The file is structured as follows:

 

                        Employee Id

                        Department Id

                        Check Location (If Used)

                        Plant     (Last digit of department id)

                        Name

                        Department Name

                        Address Line 1 (Alabama DOC employee names)

                        Birth Date

                        Hire Date

                        Term Date

                        Rate

 

From Excel open a text file:

 

File

            Open

                        From the files open dialog change the following:

                                    Look in - P:\OSAS611\ProgGN

                                    Files of Type - TEXT FILES

                                    File name Click on EMP.PRN

                       

                        Text import wizard starts.

                                    Select Fixed Width

                                                Next

                                                Next

                                                Finish

 

The file is now in excel and you can sort and print the list  to your specifications.
